Charitable Objectives

The Black Society’s constitution sets out four key areas which make up our purpose;

The prevention or relief of poverty in England and Wales by providing grants, items and services to individuals in need and/or charities, or other organisations working to prevent or relieve poverty with a focus on (but not limitation to) the following beneficiaries:

  • Families living in an area of social deprivation who may lack education and/or employment opportunities;
  • Those caring for vulnerable or dependent elderly relatives or children with learning difficulties.

The relief of those in need, by reason of youth, age, ill-health, financial hardship or social disadvantage.

We aim to provide access to support and guidance that will enable relief in all these areas through collaboration with experts in each field: This could be an individual or partner organisation.

To advance in life and relieve needs of young people through:

  • Providing support and activities which develop their skills, capacities and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as mature and responsible individuals;
  • Providing or assisting in the provision of education and training.

To promote for the benefit of the public in London, in partnership with the police, the protection of people and property from, and the prevention of, criminal acts by:

  • Driving a reduction in crime and anti-social behaviour by working to reduce poverty and providing or assisting the provision of training and support for troubled youths, those with mental health issues, or others from socially disadvantaged backgrounds who are in danger of suffering from involvement in criminal activity, or lack of education and employment;
  • Assisting the police in measures designed to reduce the level of crime.
